A new library in Mtubatuba

The long awaited Mtubatuba library has finally found its home! The Mduli family kindly donated a building that wasn’t being used by the family to house the library. The building needs a little repair and the library committee has begun making plans to prepare it for its new role with the help of international donor support – thank you! The books and a few shelves have been delivered and the set up process begins.

The library started with training in ‘library matters’ from the Zimele team: deciding on a name for the library, discussing a possible venue for the library, learning how to store and display the books, and admin aspects such as labelling the books and marking them with coloured stickers, categorising the books, in-out cards, and finally drawing up a constitution for the library committee.
